Hilary Greene (1895-1943) born in India, Dora’s younger sister, known in the family as Hi. Suffered an illness when she was eighteen months old that left her severely deaf. Educated by governesses, she eventually became a Comptometer operator in Dora’s company. She was a talented metal worker and the author has a tray that she made but did not complete (below). She died in London in 1943 after a short illness. She and Dora were very close throughout her life and her death on the anniversary of their mother’s death was a severe blow to Dora.
